Grundfos SQE Pumps
The Grundfos SQE is the variable-speed version of the Grundfos SQ 3" submersible borehole pump. It uses the same stainless steel pump ends as the SQ, driven by Grundfos' MSE3 permanent-magnet motor with electronics built in. On a 230V single-phase supply it gives you dry-running protection, soft start and voltage protection with no separate control box. It fits any borehole from 76 mm (3") upwards.
Pair an SQE with a Grundfos CU 301 control unit and it becomes a constant-pressure system. The pump speeds up and slows down to hold the pressure you set at the taps, however many are open, instead of cycling on and off against a pressure switch. The CU 301 talks to the pump over the existing power cable, so no extra wiring goes down the borehole.
