System overview

The DAB Esytank 300 with Esybox is a complete, ready-to-install pressure boosting system pairing DAB’s flagship Esybox variable-speed pump with a 275-litre useable HDPE break tank. The compact-tank version of the standard Esybox system — same higher-output pump as the Esytank 500 + Esybox, in a smaller footprint suited to properties with limited plant-room space but higher flow demand.

Mains water fills the Esytank gradually through a float valve. The Esybox then draws from the tank and delivers constant boosted pressure to every outlet on demand — up to 120 l/min and 6 bar, with the variable-speed inverter continuously adjusting to match real-time demand. DAB rate the energy saving at up to 50% compared with fixed-speed equivalents.

Supplied complete with Esydock, suction pipe with foot valve, delivery pipe, mains fill float valve, and overflow fitting. The Esybox is WRAS approved for potable water; the Esytank is manufactured from food-grade HDPE. Backed by a 3-year DAB manufacturer warranty.

Why the tank? Why not just a pump?

The Esybox cannot connect directly to the mains in installations where regulations require a break (Category 5 fluid category) between the mains supply and any installation that re-pressurises water. A break tank fulfils that requirement.

But the Esytank does more than just satisfy regulations — it acts as a reservoir, filling slowly during low-demand periods and holding 275 litres ready for peak draw. Even if your incoming mains delivers only a trickle, the system can still supply a power shower, running bath, and washing machine simultaneously, because the pump is drawing from the tank, not waiting on the mains.

Should I get the Esytank 300 or the Esytank 500?

Both use the same Esybox pump and deliver the same flow rates. The difference is the tank: 275 L useable on the 300 vs 480 L useable on the 500. Choose the 300 if your plant room is tight or your peak demand is moderate; choose the 500 if you have multiple bathrooms running simultaneously or need more buffer storage when the mains is slow to refill. Should I get the Esybox or the Esybox Mini3?

The standard Esybox is the larger flagship at 80 l/min at 3 bar, suited to higher-demand homes — typically 4–5 bedrooms or properties with 2–3 bathrooms running simultaneously. The Esybox Mini3 is a more compact pump rated at 45 l/min at 3 bar, better matched to smaller homes with 1–2 bathrooms in use. Why is it called the Esytank 300 if the useable capacity is 275 litres?

The “300” is DAB’s product designation. The actual useable capacity is 275 litres once the float valve, overflow level, and inlet/outlet allowances are accounted for. We use 275 L in technical specifications and sizing calculations to give you an accurate working figure.

Why do I need a tank — can’t I just use the pump on its own?

The Esybox cannot connect directly to the mains in most installations — UK water regulations require a break tank to prevent backflow contamination, and the Esytank fulfils that role. It also stores 275 litres of water, so the system can deliver high flow rates during peak demand even if your mains supply is slow. If your mains pressure and flow are already adequate and you only need pressure boosting, contact us for advice on a pump-only alternative.

Where can I install it?

The system is designed for indoor fixed installation — typically a utility room, cellar, garage, or plant room. The compact tank is dimensioned to fit through standard cellar doorways and into tight spaces such as under-stair cupboards. Outdoor installation requires the optional DAB Esycover kit.

Is 275 litres enough for my property?

For most domestic properties up to 4 bedrooms with 2 bathrooms in regular use, 275 litres is sufficient provided the mains can refill the tank between peak demand periods. If you regularly have multiple showers or baths running simultaneously, the Esytank 500 (480 L useable) is the better choice. Is the Esybox WRAS approved for drinking water?

Yes — the Esybox is WRAS approved, confirming it is safe and legal for potable water in the UK. The Esytank is manufactured from food-grade HDPE and is suitable for drinking water storage, but does not hold its own WRAS approval. Where a fully WRAS-approved tank is required by specification, the WaterBoost Slimline or Advant ranges offer UK-manufactured WRAS alternatives.

Standard delivery is free on most orders. Some items may incur a delivery charge depending on weight, size or value. Any applicable charge will be displayed at checkout.

Deliveries will typically be made between 7am and 6pm, Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays).

Next day delivery:
Next working day delivery is available for a £16.50 + VAT delivery charge.

Orders must be placed before 12 noon to qualify for next working day delivery. Orders placed after 12 noon on Thursday but before noon on Friday will be delivered the following Monday. Orders placed after 12 noon on Friday will be delivered on Tuesday.

What is a mains pressure boosting system?

A mains pressure boosting system increases the pressure and flow of water from the incoming mains supply into a property. It typically combines a pump and a storage or expansion tank, drawing water from the mains and delivering it to taps, showers and appliances at a stronger, more consistent pressure. They are used where the incoming mains is too weak to serve modern outlets reliably.

When do I need a mains booster pump?

What size mains booster do I need for my home?

Sizing depends on the number of bathrooms, the type of fittings and the static mains pressure. As a guide, a 1 to 2 bathroom property with combi boiler or single shower often needs 1.6 to 3 bar boost. A 2 to 3 bathroom property typically needs 3 to 4.5 bar with an integral break tank. Larger homes need a tank-and-pump system such as the DAB Esybox with Esytank or a Powertank set.

What is a water booster pump?

A water booster pump increases the pressure of an existing water supply to give stronger flow at taps, showers and appliances. It can be a small inline pump fitted to the incoming mains, or a larger pump and tank set that draws from a break tank to feed the whole house. Boosters do not create water – they raise the pressure of the water already coming in.

What is the difference between an inline booster and a tank-and-pump booster?

An inline booster connects straight onto the incoming mains and is limited to 12 litres per minute under UK water regulations – examples include the Salamander HomeBoost and WaterBoost WB-Compact. A tank-and-pump booster, such as the Grundfos Home Booster or DAB Esybox with Esytank, draws from a break tank and can deliver much higher flow rates for larger homes with multiple bathrooms.

What is a variable speed booster pump?

A variable speed booster uses an inverter to adjust pump speed in real time to match demand.
