More about this product
The DAB Esybox with Esytank 500 is a complete, ready-to-install water pressure boosting system combining DAB’s flagship variable speed booster pump with a drinking water storage tank holding 480 litres usable capacity. Designed for domestic and light commercial properties where mains pressure is insufficient or where direct mains connection is not permitted.
The Esybox pump intelligently adjusts its speed to match demand, delivering constant pressure to every outlet while using up to 50% less energy than fixed-speed alternatives. The Esytank stores water from the mains during low-demand periods, ensuring a reliable supply even when mains flow is restricted.
Both components are supplied with everything needed for installation, including Esydock, suction pipe with foot valve, and delivery pipe. The Esybox pump is WRAS approved for potable water. Backed by a 3-year DAB manufacturer warranty.

The chart shows the relationship between flow rate and head for the Esybox pump. As demand increases, the variable-speed inverter increases output — but as with any pump, available pressure decreases as flow rises. Maximum head is 60 metres (6 bar); maximum flow is 120 l/min.
Indicative pump curve. Actual performance varies with installation conditions. Refer to the DAB data sheet for full performance data.
All three systems use the same DAB Esybox pump. The differences are storage capacity, tank format, warranty, and price. Use this table to identify which fits your application.
What’s actually included in the box?
The system ships complete and ready to install. You receive the DAB Esybox booster pump, the Esytank 500 (480 litres useable capacity), an Esydock docking station, suction pipe with foot valve, delivery pipe, mains fill float valve, and overflow fitting. No additional fittings are required to get the system running.
Why is it called the Esytank 500 if the useable capacity is 480 litres?
The “500” is DAB’s product designation. The actual useable capacity is 480 litres once the float valve, overflow level, and inlet/outlet allowances are accounted for. We use 480 L in technical specifications and sizing calculations to give you an accurate working figure.
Why do I need a tank — can’t I just use the pump on its own?
The Esybox pump cannot connect directly to the mains — regulations require a break tank in between. But the Esytank does more than just comply: it stores 480 litres useable, meaning the system can deliver high flow rates even if your mains supply is slow or intermittent. It fills gradually from the mains and delivers on demand, so you never run short during peak usage. If your mains pressure and flow are already adequate and you only need boosting, contact us for advice on a pump-only solution.
Where can I install it?
The system is designed for indoor fixed installation — typically a utility room, cellar, garage, or plant room. The tank dimensions are specifically designed to fit through standard cellar doorways. The four base slots allow secure floor fixing. The Esybox pump runs at 43 dB(A) making it suitable even in spaces close to living areas. Outdoor installation requires the optional DAB Esycover kit.
Is 480 litres enough for my property?
For most domestic properties and light commercial use, 480 litres useable is sufficient provided the mains supply refills the tank between peak demand periods. If you need more capacity, the Esytank has a modular design — auxiliary tanks can be connected on any of three sides to expand storage. Alternatively, the WaterBoost Advant range offers fixed 500 L or 1,000 L tanks with a 10-year warranty. Contact us if you need help sizing the system for your specific demand.
Is the pump WRAS approved for drinking water?
The Esybox pump is WRAS approved, confirming it is safe and legal for use with potable (drinking) water supplies in the UK. The Esytank is manufactured from food-grade HDPE and is suitable for drinking water storage, but does not hold its own WRAS approval.
What warranty is included?
3 years manufacturer warranty direct from DAB when purchased from Anglian Pumping, an authorised DAB distributor.
Does the Esybox have WiFi and remote monitoring?
Yes — the Esybox has built-in WiFi and connects to the DAB H2D app for remote monitoring, pressure adjustment, and fault alerts. It also works with Google Home and Amazon Alexa — say “Hey Google, power shower” to boost pressure or “Hey Google, sleep mode” to quieten it overnight.
How easy is maintenance?
The Esytank has a top-mounted inspection lid for routine tank inspection and cleaning. The Esybox pump docks and undocks from the Esydock station without tools, making servicing straightforward. Fault history is logged in the H2D app so any issues can be diagnosed remotely.
Can I expand the system in future?
Yes. The system is fully modular. Additional Esytank auxiliary cisterns can be coupled on any of three sides to increase storage. For higher flow demand, up to 4 Esybox pumps can be connected wirelessly and will share the load automatically. Contact us to discuss expansion options.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to common questions about the DAB Esybox with Esytank 500 water booster system. For technical specifications, see the product details above; for sizing or installation advice, contact our team. If you have any other questions, we're happy to help.
What is the DAB Esybox with Esytank?
The DAB Esybox with Esytank 500 is a complete water pressure boosting system. A variable speed Esybox pump draws from a 480 litre HDPE break tank to deliver constant boosted pressure on demand. It solves three problems at once: low mains pressure, restricted mains flow, and properties where direct mains pump connection is not permitted. It arrives ready to install.
How much flow and pressure does the DAB Esybox with Esytank deliver?
The system delivers up to 120 litres per minute at a maximum working pressure of 6 bar. The variable speed inverter adjusts pump speed to match demand in real time, so pressure stays constant as outlets open and close. The 480 litre tank gives a usable reserve for peak demand periods or restricted mains flow.
What is a mains pressure boosting system?
A mains pressure boosting system increases the pressure and flow of water from the incoming mains supply into a property. It typically combines a pump and a storage or expansion tank, drawing water from the mains and delivering it to taps, showers and appliances at a stronger, more consistent pressure. They are used where the incoming mains is too weak to serve modern outlets reliably.
When do I need a mains booster pump?
You normally need a mains booster if static mains pressure is below 1.5 to 2 bar, if showers run weakly when other taps are open, or if combi boilers struggle to deliver hot water. Anglian Pumping recommends checking static pressure at the stop tap before specifying a system, then choosing a model rated for the number of bathrooms and outlets in the property.
What size mains booster do I need for my home?
Sizing depends on the number of bathrooms, the type of fittings and the static mains pressure. As a guide, a 1 to 2 bathroom property with combi boiler or single shower often needs 1.6 to 3 bar boost. A 2 to 3 bathroom property typically needs 3 to 4.5 bar with an integral break tank. Larger homes need a tank-and-pump system such as the DAB Esybox with Esytank or a Powertank set.
What is a water booster pump?
A water booster pump increases the pressure of an existing water supply to give stronger flow at taps, showers and appliances. It can be a small inline pump fitted to the incoming mains, or a larger pump and tank set that draws from a break tank to feed the whole house. Boosters do not create water – they raise the pressure of the water already coming in.
What is the difference between an inline booster and a tank-and-pump booster?
An inline booster connects straight onto the incoming mains and is limited to 12 litres per minute under UK water regulations – examples include the Salamander HomeBoost and WaterBoost WB-Compact. A tank-and-pump booster, such as the Grundfos Home Booster or DAB Esybox with Esytank, draws from a break tank and can deliver much higher flow rates for larger homes with multiple bathrooms.
What is a variable speed booster pump?
A variable speed booster uses an inverter to adjust pump speed in real time to match demand. It maintains constant pressure as outlets open and close, runs more quietly than a fixed-speed pump and typically saves up to 50 per cent of the energy a fixed-speed equivalent would use. The DAB Esybox, DAB Esybox Mini 3 and Grundfos Scala2 are common variable speed examples.
