The Ebara 2GPE MATRIX 10-4T/1.5 ESPM is a two-pump variable speed booster set. Two 4-stage Matrix 10 horizontal multistage pumps in AISI 304 stainless steel each have their own 1.5 kW IE3 motor, E-SPD+ inverter and pressure transmitter, mounted on a galvanised steel baseplate with stainless steel suction and discharge manifolds and a protection panel.
The drives hold a constant set pressure as demand changes, from a single pump at low flow up to about 20.2 m³/h with both running, the end of Ebara’s application range for this set. It runs from a 230 V single-phase supply and connects through G2½ suction and discharge manifolds.

More about this product
Ebara 2GPE MATRIX 10-4T/1.5 ESPM Overview
The 2GPE MATRIX 10-4T/1.5 ESPM is the single-phase version of the four-stage, 1.5 kW model in Ebara’s two-pump Matrix 10 GPE booster range. It carries two 4-stage Matrix 10 horizontal multistage pumps side by side on a galvanised steel baseplate. Each pump has its own 1.5 kW IE3 motor, motor-mounted E-SPD+ inverter and pressure transmitter, and its own isolating ball valves and check valve, so either pump can be valved off for service while the other keeps running.
The E-SPD+ drives change pump speed to hold a constant set pressure, bringing pumps in as demand rises and dropping them out as it falls. That gives steadier pressure, lower energy use and less wear than fixed-speed boosting. With both pumps running the set delivers up to about 20.2 m³/h within Ebara’s application range, with around 48.1 m of head at shut-off. It suits commercial and multi-occupancy buildings, hotels, schools, light industrial sites and irrigation where demand varies through the day and only a single-phase supply is available.

Performance
Duty points at 50 Hz (full speed) with both pumps running, from the Ebara 2GPE MATRIX 10-4T/1,5 curve (ISO 9906:2012 Grade 3B). The 0 and 7.2 m³/h figures are Ebara’s stated values; the others are read from the curve. The table stops at about 20.2 m³/h, where Ebara’s application range for this set ends, at the point where each pump’s shaft power reaches its 1.5 kW motor rating. Each pump gives half of the set flow at the same head, so with one pump running the set gives half the flow shown. The drives reduce speed to hold the set pressure at lower demand.
| Set flow (m³/h) | 0 | 7.2 | 10 | 13 | 16 | 20.2 |

What is a water booster pump?
A water booster pump increases the pressure of an existing water supply to give stronger flow at taps, showers and appliances. It can be a small inline pump fitted to the incoming mains, or a larger pump and tank set that draws from a break tank to feed the whole house. Boosters do not create water – they raise the pressure of the water already coming in.
What is the difference between an inline booster and a tank-and-pump booster?
An inline booster connects straight onto the incoming mains and is limited to 12 litres per minute under UK water regulations – examples include the Salamander HomeBoost and WaterBoost WB-Compact. A tank-and-pump booster, such as the Grundfos Home Booster or DAB Esybox with Esytank, draws from a break tank and can deliver much higher flow rates for larger homes with multiple bathrooms.
What is a variable speed booster pump?
A variable speed booster uses an inverter to adjust pump speed in real time to match demand. It maintains constant pressure as outlets open and close, runs more quietly than a fixed-speed pump and typically saves up to 50 per cent of the energy a fixed-speed equivalent would use. The DAB Esybox, DAB Esybox Mini 3 and Grundfos Scala2 are common variable speed examples.
