The Evak Hippo 80-300T is where the Hippo DN80 range goes three-phase only. 2.2 kW / 3 HP motor, recessed vortex impeller, 76 mm free passage and a DN80 flanged discharge for guide rail installation. 1,100 L/min and 13 m of head, rated 400 L/min at 9.5 m — a 4 m jump over the 80-200 that turns the DN80 from a low-lift pump into a proper pump-station pump.

Built for commercial sewage stations, larger developments and treatment works where solids and volume both matter. The 76 mm passage takes what a 65 mm pump won’t. Cast iron pump body, stainless steel motor housing, EKK Eagle Burgmann double mechanical seal. Manual operation for panel control. 10 m cable.

Full Description

The Evak Hippo 80-300T is the first of the three-phase-only Hippo DN80 models. The model code says it: 80 for the DN80 discharge, 300 for 3 HP, T for three-phase. A 2.2 kW 2-pole motor drives a recessed vortex impeller to 1,100 L/min and 13 m of head, with a rated duty of 400 L/min at 9.5 m. The 80-150 and 80-200 are low-lift pumps for short mains; the 300T is the first DN80 with enough head for a typical commercial pump station, and it does it while passing 76 mm solids.

76 mm free passage is the largest in the Hippo family. Raw sewage carries rag, wipes and solids that wrap around a smaller impeller; the DN80 vortex design keeps the impeller recessed out of the flow so solids pass through the volute without touching it. The DN80 flanged discharge (DIN PN10/16) bolts to a QD-80 quick-discharge coupling for guide rail installation, so the pump lifts out for service without anyone entering the chamber.

Cast iron pump body and volute, stainless steel motor housing, and an EKK Eagle Burgmann double mechanical seal (carbon/ceramic upper, silicon carbide lower) in an oil bath with NBR lip seal. Class F insulation, IP68, auto-reset thermal protector, ball bearings. Three-phase motor drawing 6 A, no capacitor, no float — supplied manual for control from a panel. 10 m cable. 43.7 kg — davit or hoist.

76 mm vortex impeller

Recessed vortex design passes 76 mm solids and rag through the volute without contact — the largest free passage in the Hippo family.

DN80 flanged discharge

DIN PN10/16 flange for a QD-80 quick-discharge coupling on a guide rail, or direct to a flanged riser. Lift out for service without entering the chamber.

Cast iron pump body

FC200 cast iron volute and casing for long life in raw sewage.

Stainless motor housing

Stainless steel motor housing over a Class F dry-type motor with auto-reset thermal protector and ball bearings. IP68.

EKK Eagle Burgmann double seal

Carbon/ceramic upper and silicon carbide lower mechanical seals in an oil bath with NBR lip seal — a named, serviceable seal set, not a generic one.

Three-phase manual motor

400V three-phase, 6 A, no capacitor, no float — wired to a control panel with level probes or floats. The right motor for duty/standby stations.

What is a submersible pump?

A submersible pump is designed to operate fully submerged in the liquid it is moving. The motor is sealed inside the pump body and cooled by the surrounding water. Submersibles are used for drainage, sewage, septic tanks, deep wells and boreholes, and for raising water from sumps, cellars and floodwater. Many stocked at Anglian Pumping handle solids in suspension.

Can submersible pumps handle solids and sewage?

Yes – some submersibles are designed for clean water only, others handle solids up to 50 mm or full raw sewage. Anglian Pumping stocks ABS, BBC, Flygt and T-T Submersibles ranges that include vortex, single channel and grinder impellers for different solids handling requirements. Always match the pump to the maximum solid size and the type of effluent it will see.

When should I use a submersible pump instead of a surface pump?

Use a submersible when the water level is more than around 8 metres below the pump installation point – surface pumps cannot self-prime beyond that depth. Submersibles are also better when the liquid contains solids, when noise must be minimised, or when the pump needs to operate in confined spaces such as sumps and chambers where a surface pump would not fit.
