Evak Hippo 80-200 1.5kW DN80 Sewage Pump 400V
- Established 1975
- Trusted by thousands of customers
The Evak Hippo 80-200 (400V) is the three-phase version of the 2 HP Hippo DN80 — same hydraulics as the 230V pump, built for pump stations with a three-phase supply and a control panel. 1.5 kW motor drawing just 3.9 A, recessed vortex impeller, 76 mm free passage, DN80 flanged discharge, up to 780 L/min and 9 m of head.
Built for raw sewage and heavy wastewater where blockages are the problem and the rising main is short — big chambers, commercial premises, sites that have ragged a 50 or 65 mm pump. Cast iron pump body, stainless steel motor housing, EKK Eagle Burgmann double mechanical seal. Manual operation — no float switch — for panel control. 10 m cable.

More about this product
The Evak Hippo 80-200 (400V) is the three-phase version of the 2 HP Hippo DN80. Hydraulically identical to the 230V pump — 1.5 kW, 780 L/min, 9 m head, rated 460 L/min at 5 m — but on a 400V three-phase motor drawing only 3.9 A, with no capacitor and no float, supplied manual for control from a panel. In a duty/standby station with level probes, this is the version to fit: balanced load, a simpler motor, and nothing in the start circuit to fail. It’s also the last DN80 available in both voltages — from the 80-300T up, the range is three-phase only.
The model code says what it is: 80 for the DN80 discharge, 200 for 2 HP. 76 mm free passage is the largest in the Hippo family, and the DN80 recessed vortex design keeps the impeller out of the flow so rag, wipes and solids pass through the volute without touching it. The DN80 flanged discharge (DIN PN10/16) bolts to a QD-80 quick-discharge coupling on a guide rail, so the pump lifts out for service without anyone entering the chamber.
Cast iron pump body and volute, stainless steel motor housing, and an EKK Eagle Burgmann double mechanical seal (carbon/ceramic upper, silicon carbide lower) in an oil bath with NBR lip seal. Class F insulation, IP68, auto-reset thermal protector, ball bearings. 10 m cable. 42.6 kg — plan on lifting gear.

What is a submersible pump?
A submersible pump is designed to operate fully submerged in the liquid it is moving. The motor is sealed inside the pump body and cooled by the surrounding water. Submersibles are used for drainage, sewage, septic tanks, deep wells and boreholes, and for raising water from sumps, cellars and floodwater. Many stocked at Anglian Pumping handle solids in suspension.
Can submersible pumps handle solids and sewage?
Yes – some submersibles are designed for clean water only, others handle solids up to 50 mm or full raw sewage. Anglian Pumping stocks ABS, BBC, Flygt and T-T Submersibles ranges that include vortex, single channel and grinder impellers for different solids handling requirements. Always match the pump to the maximum solid size and the type of effluent it will see.
When should I use a submersible pump instead of a surface pump?
Use a submersible when the water level is more than around 8 metres below the pump installation point – surface pumps cannot self-prime beyond that depth. Submersibles are also better when the liquid contains solids, when noise must be minimised, or when the pump needs to operate in confined spaces such as sumps and chambers where a surface pump would not fit.
