The Evak Hippo 50-100 (400V) is the 1 HP top of the single-phase Hippo tier in 400V three-phase configuration, built for permanent commercial and light-industrial installations with 3-phase distribution. 0.75 kW / 1 HP three-phase motor, 2″ discharge, cast iron pump body with vortex impeller and 50 mm free passage.

Genuine heavy-duty option — 500 L/min max flow at 11.3 m max head. Three-phase operation draws just 2.5 A at full load — ideal for permanent installations with dedicated 3-phase supply, overload protection, and motor starter. The Evak Hippo 50-100 (400V) is the 1 HP top-of-single-phase-tier Hippo in three-phase configuration, built for permanent commercial and light-industrial installations with dedicated 400V distribution. A 0.75 kW / 1 HP 2-pole three-phase motor drives a vortex impeller through a heat-treated stainless steel shaft, supported by NTN long-life ball bearings.

Compared with the 0.75 HP 50-75, this variant delivers 500 L/min at up to 11.3 m of head — 28% more flow and 13% more lift at the same 2″ discharge and 50 mm free passage. This is the pump for genuine multi-property sewage stations, deep commercial sumps, and permanent 3-phase installations where the 0.75 HP variant runs into its performance ceiling. Above 1 HP the Hippo range switches from PA66+30GF glass-reinforced nylon motor covers to full cast iron construction, so the 50-100 marks the boundary between the “prosumer” and “industrial” tiers within the Hippo family.

Three-phase 400V operation delivers smoother start-up, no starting capacitor, and lower running current per phase than single-phase equivalents — better for continuous-duty operation and reduces mains distribution loading. The motor housing is AISI 304 stainless steel with a PA66+30GF glass-reinforced nylon motor cover. Twin EKK Eagle Burgmann mechanical seals (upper Ca/Ce, lower SiC/SiC) run in an oil chamber with an NBR lip seal. External overload protection required — supply with a suitable motor starter and level controller.

Cast iron pump volute

EN-GJL-200 cast iron pump casing, impeller, oil chamber, bracket, and seal housing — heavy-duty grey iron for long service life in abrasive conditions.

Stainless motor housing

AISI 304 stainless steel motor housing over the stator, with AISI 410 heat-treated stainless shaft. Nylon 6 handle, PA66+30GF glass-reinforced nylon motor cover.

50 mm vortex impeller

Recessed vortex design giving full 50 mm free passage — handles typical sewage solids and stringy material without clogging.

Twin silicon carbide seal

EKK Eagle Burgmann double mechanical seal — upper Ca/Ce, lower SiC/SiC — running in oil chamber with NBR lip seal.

Three-phase efficiency

Standard delivery is free on most orders. Some items may incur a delivery charge depending on weight, size or value. Any applicable charge will be displayed at checkout.

Deliveries will typically be made between 7am and 6pm, Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays).

Next day delivery:
Next working day delivery is available for a £16.50 + VAT delivery charge.

Orders must be placed before 12 noon to qualify for next working day delivery. Orders placed after 12 noon on Thursday but before noon on Friday will be delivered the following Monday. Orders placed after 12 noon on Friday will be delivered on Tuesday.

What is a submersible pump?

A submersible pump is designed to operate fully submerged in the liquid it is moving. The motor is sealed inside the pump body and cooled by the surrounding water. Submersibles are used for drainage, sewage, septic tanks, deep wells and boreholes, and for raising water from sumps, cellars and floodwater. Many stocked at Anglian Pumping handle solids in suspension.

Can submersible pumps handle solids and sewage?

Yes – some submersibles are designed for clean water only, others handle solids up to 50 mm or full raw sewage. Anglian Pumping stocks ABS, BBC, Flygt and T-T Submersibles ranges that include vortex, single channel and grinder impellers for different solids handling requirements. Always match the pump to the maximum solid size and the type of effluent it will see.

When should I use a submersible pump instead of a surface pump?

Use a submersible when the water level is more than around 8 metres below the pump installation point – surface pumps cannot self-prime beyond that depth. Submersibles are also better when the liquid contains solids, when noise must be minimised, or when the pump needs to operate in confined spaces such as sumps and chambers where a surface pump would not fit.
