More about this product
The DAB Divertron 900 X is a submersible multi-impeller booster pump with fully integrated electronics, configured for installations with sediment or particulates at the base of the water source. The X variant uses a closed filter base with a 1″ female threaded inlet, designed to be paired with the separately supplied KIT X floating suction kit.
Instead of drawing water through the bottom of the pump, the KIT X attaches a flexible suction line to a buoyant float — water is drawn from just below the surface, well above the sediment layer that settles at the base of wells and rainwater tanks. The result is a cleaner supply, less filter blockage, and reduced wear on the pump internals. This is the higher-pressure 900 model, with 45 m max head. DAB part 60208443.
At a glance
Built for
Two-storey domestic feeds from rainwater tanks with sediment at the base. Wells with sand, silt or organic debris where you also need pressure for a longer pipe run or higher tap. Boreholes and stored water sources where the bottom 100–200 mm is best left undisturbed and the rise to the highest outlet exceeds 13 m.
Performance and electronics are the same as the standard 900 — 45 m head, 6 m³/h flow, 0.75 kW motor, 2.4 bar cut-in. The difference is purely in how the water enters the pump.
How the X system works
The pump base is closed and watertight, with a 1″ female threaded connection. The KIT X (sold separately) attaches a flexible hose with a buoyant float at the far end. Once installed, the float sits on the water surface, with the suction intake hanging just below it — typically 100–200 mm down. As the water level rises and falls, the float follows, always drawing from the same shallow zone above the sediment.
The pump itself can be positioned out of the water — on a platform alongside the tank, or on the wellhead. This is a useful flexibility advantage on installations where access for maintenance matters.
Build
Pump body and impellers in technopolymer for corrosion and oxidation resistance. Stainless steel motor shaft (AISI 416 + AISI 304) and motor cap (AISI 304). Brass insert at the X inlet for the threaded connection. EPDM seals throughout. Carbon-impregnated resin / ceramic / NBR mechanical seal. Integrated non-return valve in the discharge.
IP68 rated motor with class F insulation, asynchronous design with integrated thermal overload protection. Supplied with 15 m H07RNF power cable and Schuko plug.
Installation notes
The X version requires the KIT X floating suction kit to function as designed — without it, the closed inlet base means the pump cannot draw water. We supply the KIT X separately; check the accessories section before checkout, or get in touch if you’d like both bundled.
The 1″ threaded discharge is supplied with a four-section fitting-reducer. Use 1″ pipework as a minimum to preserve performance. Do not fit a separate non-return valve within 1 m of the pump discharge — the integrated valve handles this. A small 0.5–2 litre auxiliary expansion tank on the delivery side is recommended to absorb short draw-offs.
Recommended maximum vertical lift to the highest tap is 20 m. Maximum 20 starts per hour. Install in a location not exposed to freezing, or remove and drain for winter storage if the chamber may freeze.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need the KIT X to use this pump?
Yes, in almost all cases. The X version has a closed filter base with a 1″ female threaded inlet — no open filter on the bottom. The KIT X provides a flexible suction line with a float that draws cleaner water from above the sediment line. Without it, you’d need to plumb your own suction line into the 1″ inlet, which most installations don’t do.
When should I choose the X over the standard 900?
When your water source has a sediment layer at the base — sand in a well, organic debris in a rainwater tank, or any source where the bottom 100–200 mm of water is dirtier than the rest. The standard 900 will pump it but its open inlet filter (3 mm) will block more frequently and sand will accelerate impeller wear. The X draws from above the sediment, so the pump sees cleaner water.
Should I get the 900 X or the 650 X?
Same reasoning as the standard models. Choose the 900 X for two-storey domestic feeds, longer pipe runs, or where you want firmer pressure at multiple outlets — it reaches 45 m of head. Pick the 650 X for garden-led, single-storey applications where the rise to the highest tap is up to 13 m.
Is there an X version with a float switch?
No — the X variant is not currently offered with an integrated float. The pump relies on its built-in electronic dry-run protection. If your tank can run dry and you need a positive level cut-off, fit an external float switch in the supply line, or speak to us about the best configuration for your installation.
Is the Divertron 900 X WRAS approved for drinking water?
No. It is built from materials suitable for clean water but does not carry WRAS approval in the UK. For mains-connected potable supply, specify a WRAS-listed pump. The Divertron is well-suited to rainwater reuse, garden duties and private (non-mains) supplies.
What’s the warranty?
2-year manufacturer’s warranty when installed and operated within the specified limits.
