The Ebara 3GPE MATRIX 18-3T/2.2 ESPM is a three-pump variable speed booster set. Three 3-stage Matrix 18 horizontal multistage pumps in AISI 304 stainless steel each have their own 2.2 kW IE3 motor, E-SPD+ inverter and pressure transmitter, mounted on a galvanised steel baseplate with stainless steel suction and discharge manifolds and a protection panel.
The drives hold a constant set pressure as demand changes, from a single pump at low flow up to 81 m³/h with all three running. It runs from a 230 V single-phase supply and connects through DN100 flanged manifolds.

Ebara 3GPE MATRIX 18-3T/2.2 ESPM Overview
The 3GPE MATRIX 18-3T/2.2 ESPM is the single-phase version of the three-stage, 2.2 kW model in Ebara’s three-pump Matrix 18 GPE booster range, and the largest Matrix 18 set Ebara offers for a 230 V single-phase supply. It carries three 3-stage Matrix 18 horizontal multistage pumps side by side on a galvanised steel baseplate. Each pump has its own 2.2 kW IE3 motor, motor-mounted E-SPD+ inverter and pressure transmitter, and its own isolating ball valves and check valve, so any one pump can be valved off for service while the others keep running.
The E-SPD+ drives change pump speed to hold a constant set pressure, bringing pumps in as demand rises and dropping them out as it falls. That gives steadier pressure, lower energy use and less wear than fixed-speed boosting. With all three pumps running the set delivers up to 81 m³/h, with around 36.3 m of head at shut-off. It suits commercial and multi-occupancy buildings, hotels, schools, light industrial sites and irrigation where demand varies through the day and only a single-phase supply is available.

Performance
Duty points at 50 Hz (full speed) with all three pumps running, from the Ebara 3GPE MATRIX 18-3T/2,2 curve (ISO 9906:2012 Grade 3B). The 0, 23.4 and 81 m³/h figures are Ebara’s stated values; the others are read from the curve. Each pump gives one third of the set flow at the same head, so with two pumps running the set gives two thirds of the flow shown. The drives reduce speed to hold the set pressure at lower demand.

What is a water booster pump?
A water booster pump increases the pressure of an existing water supply to give stronger flow at taps, showers and appliances. It can be a small inline pump fitted to the incoming mains, or a larger pump and tank set that draws from a break tank to feed the whole house. Boosters do not create water – they raise the pressure of the water already coming in.
What is the difference between an inline booster and a tank-and-pump booster?
An inline booster connects straight onto the incoming mains and is limited to 12 litres per minute under UK water regulations – examples include the Salamander HomeBoost and WaterBoost WB-Compact. A tank-and-pump booster, such as the Grundfos Home Booster or DAB Esybox with Esytank, draws from a break tank and can deliver much higher flow rates for larger homes with multiple bathrooms.
What is a variable speed booster pump?
A variable speed booster uses an inverter to adjust pump speed in real time to match demand. It maintains constant pressure as outlets open and close, runs more quietly than a fixed-speed pump and typically saves up to 50 per cent of the energy a fixed-speed equivalent would use. The DAB Esybox, DAB Esybox Mini 3 and Grundfos Scala2 are common variable speed examples.
