The Pedrollo VX 8/50-ST is a 0.55 kW (0.75 HP) stainless steel submersible vortex pump for sewage on a 400 V three-phase supply, delivering up to 450 l/min and 7 m head.
Part of Pedrollo’s VX-ST range, made entirely of AISI 304 stainless steel, with a VORTEX impeller that passes suspended solids without clogging.

The Pedrollo VX 8/50-ST is a 0.55 kW (0.75 HP) stainless steel submersible vortex pump for sewage and waste water on a 400 V three-phase supply, covering 50 to 450 l/min with a working head of 7 m down to 1.5 m. The VORTEX impeller passes suspended solids with minimal risk of clogging.
The VX-ST is made entirely of stainless steel for strong resistance to corrosion and abrasion: AISI 304 pump body, base, VORTEX impeller and motor sleeve, with an AISI 431 shaft (AISI 316L on request). They suit sewage drainage in domestic, civil and industrial settings where the water carries suspended solids, such as sludge-mixed water, groundwater or surface water, and pumping out flooded basements, underground car parks and car wash stations, or emptying septic tanks and sewage systems.

Frequently asked questions
What size solids will it pass?
Up to Ø 40 mm on the /35 models and up to Ø 50 mm on the /50 models, thanks to the VORTEX impeller.
Does it have a float switch?
Single-phase VXm models come with an external float switch as standard. Three-phase models are manual, with no float switch, so they need a separate level control.
How long is the cable?
10 metres, type H07 RN-F, as standard. Single-phase models have a Schuko plug.
Can it go on a guide rail?
Yes. Pedrollo guide rail kits are available: horizontal delivery 2300830 (VX /35) or 2300840 (VX /50), and vertical delivery 2300850 (VX /35) or 2300860 (VX /50).

Standard delivery is free on most orders. Some items may incur a delivery charge depending on weight, size or value. Any applicable charge will be displayed at checkout.
Deliveries will typically be made between 7am and 6pm, Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays).
Next day delivery:
Next working day delivery is available for a £16.50 + VAT delivery charge.
Orders must be placed before 12 noon to qualify for next working day delivery. Orders placed after 12 noon on Thursday but before noon on Friday will be delivered the following Monday. Orders placed after 12 noon on Friday will be delivered on Tuesday.

What is a submersible pump?
A submersible pump is designed to operate fully submerged in the liquid it is moving. The motor is sealed inside the pump body and cooled by the surrounding water. Submersibles are used for drainage, sewage, septic tanks, deep wells and boreholes, and for raising water from sumps, cellars and floodwater. Many stocked at Anglian Pumping handle solids in suspension.
Can submersible pumps handle solids and sewage?
Yes – some submersibles are designed for clean water only, others handle solids up to 50 mm or full raw sewage. Anglian Pumping stocks ABS, BBC, Flygt and T-T Submersibles ranges that include vortex, single channel and grinder impellers for different solids handling requirements. Always match the pump to the maximum solid size and the type of effluent it will see.
When should I use a submersible pump instead of a surface pump?
Use a submersible when the water level is more than around 8 metres below the pump installation point – surface pumps cannot self-prime beyond that depth. Submersibles are also better when the liquid contains solids, when noise must be minimised, or when the pump needs to operate in confined spaces such as sumps and chambers where a surface pump would not fit.
