Pump end only, with no motor. Fit it to a 4″ motor of 1.1 kW (1.5 HP); its AISI 304 stainless steel motor bracket follows NEMA standards. Pedrollo’s 4SR-S hydraulics resist sand wear and handle water with up to 200 g/m³ of sand.
More about this product
Product overview
The Pedrollo 4SR 1.5/22-S HYD is a 4″ submersible borehole pump end for clean water, covering 5 to 45 l/min with a working head of 154 m down to 52.5 m. It needs a 4″ motor of 1.1 kW (1.5 HP). Pedrollo’s own 4″ motors are the 4PD rewindable oil-filled and 4PS encapsulated water-filled types.
The 4SR-S series uses floating impellers and patented hydraulics that resist sand wear, handling water with up to 200 g/m³ of sand. A patented inductor improves priming in wells where the water carries air or gas. It suits domestic, civil and industrial use, including water distribution with autoclave tanks, irrigation, washing systems and pressure boosting.
Its delivery port is micro-cast AISI 304 stainless steel with an ISO 228/1 thread. The check valve, motor bracket (sized to NEMA standards), stage box, pump shaft, filter and cable sheath are AISI 304 stainless steel, and the pump bearings are AISI 316L stainless steel coated with chromium oxide to resist sand.

What is a submersible pump?
A submersible pump is designed to operate fully submerged in the liquid it is moving. The motor is sealed inside the pump body and cooled by the surrounding water. Submersibles are used for drainage, sewage, septic tanks, deep wells and boreholes, and for raising water from sumps, cellars and floodwater. Many stocked at Anglian Pumping handle solids in suspension.
Can submersible pumps handle solids and sewage?
Yes – some submersibles are designed for clean water only, others handle solids up to 50 mm or full raw sewage. Anglian Pumping stocks ABS, BBC, Flygt and T-T Submersibles ranges that include vortex, single channel and grinder impellers for different solids handling requirements. Always match the pump to the maximum solid size and the type of effluent it will see.
When should I use a submersible pump instead of a surface pump?
Use a submersible when the water level is more than around 8 metres below the pump installation point – surface pumps cannot self-prime beyond that depth. Submersibles are also better when the liquid contains solids, when noise must be minimised, or when the pump needs to operate in confined spaces such as sumps and chambers where a surface pump would not fit.
