Grundfos TPE3 50-240-S cast iron 400V single-head in-line pump

Single-stage, close-coupled in-line circulator with an IE5 permanent-magnet motor and integrated frequency converter. Speed varies continuously to match system demand, so the pump draws only the power the duty actually needs.

TPE3 is factory fitted with a combined differential-pressure and temperature sensor, so it runs closed-loop control straight out of the box — no separate transducer to buy or wire.

Built-in sensor

The combined differential-pressure and temperature sensor is fitted at the factory, so closed-loop control needs no extra transducer, cabling or set-up.

IE5 permanent-magnet motor

Exceeds the IE5 threshold of IEC 60034-30-2, with materially lower running cost than an equivalent fixed-speed induction pump.

Heat energy monitoring

Flow and temperature readings let the pump estimate heat energy delivered — useful for balancing, commissioning and spotting system faults.

Top-pull-out servicing

Motor, pump head and impeller lift out as one assembly while the housing stays in the pipework.

BMS ready

GENIbus and analogue/digital I/O as standard, with optional Grundfos CIM modules for BACnet, Modbus and other building protocols.

Control modes

AUTOADAPT	Default. The pump finds the lowest workable proportional-pressure curve for the system and keeps adjusting it.
FLOWADAPT	AUTOADAPT with a maximum flow limit — useful where flow must not exceed a design figure.
Proportional pressure	Head falls as flow falls. Suits radiator and two-pipe heating systems with thermostatic valves.
Constant pressure	Holds a fixed differential pressure regardless of flow. Suits underfloor heating and systems with low pipe losses.
Constant temperature	Controls speed to hold a set liquid temperature, e.g. domestic hot water return.
Constant curve	Fixed speed set from the control panel, Grundfos GO or an external signal.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to buy a pressure sensor?

No. TPE3 pumps have a combined differential-pressure and temperature sensor fitted at the factory, so proportional-pressure, constant-pressure and AUTOADAPT control work without any extra parts.

What is the difference between TPE2 and TPE3?

Both use IE5 permanent-magnet motors with integrated speed control. TPE2 has no sensor and needs an external transducer for closed-loop control; TPE3 has the sensor built in and adds heat energy monitoring.

Is this the single-head or twin-head version?

Single head. The twin-head equivalent is the TPE3 D 50-240, which we list separately.

What supply does it need?

3 x 400 V, 50 Hz. This size is three-phase only — there is no single-phase version.

Standard delivery:
Standard delivery is free on most orders. Some items may incur a delivery charge depending on weight, size or value. Any applicable charge will be displayed at checkout.

Deliveries will typically be made between 7am and 6pm, Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays).

Next day delivery:
Next working day delivery is available for a £16.50 + VAT delivery charge.

Orders must be placed before 12 noon to qualify for next working day delivery. Orders placed after 12 noon on Thursday but before noon on Friday will be delivered the following Monday. Orders placed after 12 noon on Friday will be delivered on Tuesday.
