The Ebara Matrix 3-9T/1.5 is a compact horizontal multistage centrifugal pump with nine stages, built in AISI 304 stainless steel. The pump is close-coupled to a 1.5 kW three-phase IE3 motor (230/400 V), and the standard carbon / ceramic / EPDM seal is WRAS approved for drinking water.

It covers 1.2 to 4.8 m³/h on Ebara’s selection chart, with around 102 m of head at shut-off. It suits pressure boosting, water supply and transfer, irrigation, washdown and light industrial duties, and connects through a G1 suction and a G1 discharge.

Bare pump: it needs a pressure switch, flow controller or inverter to start and stop it, and must be filled with water before first start and never run dry. Shut-off is around 10.0 bar, at the 10 bar maximum working pressure, so feed it from a break tank rather than the mains. Motor overload protection must be provided in the starter or controller.

What are centrifugal pumps used for?

Centrifugal pumps use a rotating impeller to move liquids and are commonly used for water transfer, circulation and industrial processes.

How do I choose a centrifugal pump?

Compare the required flow rate, total head, liquid characteristics and electrical supply with each pump’s performance curve.

Are centrifugal pumps suitable for dirty water?

Some are designed for clean water only, while others handle solids or wastewater. Check the particular pump’s permitted liquid and solids specification.
