The Triton LR21 is a miniature, side-mounted float switch for small tanks where a conventional cable float will not fit. Its polypropylene body screws through the tank wall on an M16 thread, and a hinged float operates a sealed reed switch.

It is a signal-level switch for most clean liquids, rated 10 W maximum, so it feeds a relay, alarm or pump controller rather than switching a pump directly. Supplied with 300 mm leads.

Triton LR21 miniature side-mount float switch

The Triton LR21 (LR21-L0M3) is a compact level switch for small tanks, reservoirs and equipment where there is no room for a hanging cable float. It mounts horizontally through the tank wall: the M16 × 2 threaded polypropylene body passes through a hole and is sealed with the rubber gasket and nut.

Inside, a reed switch is operated by the hinged float. The contact is closed with the float at about 10° and opens at about 40°. It is rated 10 W maximum, so it is used to signal a relay, alarm or controller.

Signal level only: 100 V AC/DC and 0.5 A maximum. It will not switch a pump motor directly.

Installation tips

Drill a hole in the tank wall to suit the M16 thread, fit the gasket on the inside face and tighten the nut by hand plus a quarter turn.
Mount it at the level you want to detect; check the switching by moving the float by hand before filling.
Keep within 10 W, 100 V and 0.5 A. Use a relay or controller for any pump or larger load.

Can the LR21 switch a pump directly?

No. It is a 10 W signal switch. Use it to drive a relay or a pump controller such as the Triton LR31, which switches the pump.

How is it fitted?

It mounts sideways through the tank wall on an M16 × 2 thread, sealed by a rubber gasket and polypropylene nut.

What liquids can it go in?

Most clean liquids compatible with polypropylene, up to 85°C and 1 bar.
