Triton LR07
Triton LR07 WRAS Potable Water Float Switch 10m LR07-L10M
- Established 1975
- Trusted by thousands of customers
The Triton LR07-L10M is a WRAS approved, non-mercury float switch made for potable water: break tanks, cold water storage, cisterns and booster sets. A sealed polypropylene float houses a steel roller ball and microswitch, moulded to 10 m of 3-core EPDM cable.
Its changeover (SPDT) contact switches a pump directly up to 15 A resistive at 250 V, and can be wired to fill or empty a tank. Made in the UK by Triton Controls.

More about this product
Triton LR07 potable water float switch, 10 m
The Triton LR07-L10M is a non-mercury level regulator designed for drinking water and consumable liquids. The float is a sealed polypropylene casing moulded to 10 m of 3-core EPDM cable. Inside, a steel roller ball operates a microswitch as the float tilts, giving a clean single pole, double throw (changeover) contact with no mercury or heavy metals.
As the water level rises or falls, the LR07 starts or stops a pump, opens a solenoid valve or triggers an alarm. Wire one side of the switch to fill a tank, or the other side to empty it.

Wiring
| Leads used | Contact closes when | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| Brown + Black | Float rises | Emptying: pump starts on high level |
| Brown + Blue | Float falls | Filling: pump or valve starts on low level; low-level / dry-run alarm |
Brown is the common lead. Insulate whichever lead you don’t use. Single-phase pumps up to 10 A inductive can be switched directly. Larger or three-phase motors should be switched through a contactor or control panel.
Applications
Cable length options
| Part number | Cable length |

| LR07-L10M (this listing) | 10 m |
| LR07-L20M | 20 m |
Installation tips
- Allow at least 330 mm of free movement so the float can tilt fully. Switching points are approximate.
- Set the switching level with the optional stabilising weight. It fixes anywhere on the cable with the supplied O-ring and cable tie.
- In open or turbulent tanks, clip the cable to the tank wall to stop the float drifting.
- Where turbulence causes rapid on/off switching, use a maintaining (latching) circuit to protect the microswitch and pump starter.
FAQs
Is the LR07 approved for drinking water?
Yes. The LR07 is WRAS approved, with a polypropylene float and EPDM cable, and contains no mercury.
Can one switch fill and empty a tank?
Yes. Use brown and black to empty (closes on rising level) or brown and blue to fill (closes on falling level).
Will it switch my pump directly?
Single-phase pumps up to 10 A inductive (about 1.3 hp) at 250 V, yes. Use a contactor or control panel for larger or three-phase pumps.
Can I use it in wastewater or hot water?
No. The LR07 is rated to 23°C for clean potable water. For sewage, wastewater or fats, use the Triton LR02.
Is 10 m of cable enough?
Measure from the switching point to your control panel or junction box and add some slack. Choose 5 m for short runs or 20 m for deeper tanks and longer runs.
