Grundfos Sololift2 Domestic Macerators
The Grundfos Sololift2 pumps are compact lifting stations. They provide the ability to drain any domestic sanitary appliance wherever it's needed; without the use of the gravity drain system. This range of macerators are the most powerful, reliable and service friendly available on the market.
The Grundfos Sololift2 pumps offer the ability to fit additional toilets or bathrooms in areas where it wouldn't normally be impossible, including attics and basements. They provide a low cost bathroom option for holiday lets and guest houses or an extra bathroom for the use of elderly or disabled people.

The wastewater is collected and pumped through a thin pressure pipe (which is no greater than 23mm) and then taken through to the next down pipe (up to 6m high or a distance of 100m). The system is supplied ready to use and is fully automatic once water enters the tanks. It uses a modular design. The motor, pump and electronics are separate from the processing chamber, enabling easy access for maintenance.
They have a self-cleaning design and a high torque, hardened steel cutter. There is less risk of sedimentation or clogging due to the unique slopping design of the tank floor. Specific models can be used for temperatures up to 90oC for 30 minutes, making them suitable for high temperature appliances.
There are three models in the Sololift2 range, with a number of different inlet connections possible. The WC-1, WC-3 and CWC-3 take wastewater from a toilet or other sanitary appliance. The C-2 and D-2 can take grey wastewater from a number of appliances, including showers, baths, washing machines and dishwashers.

What is a submersible pump?
A submersible pump is designed to operate fully submerged in the liquid it is moving. The motor is sealed inside the pump body and cooled by the surrounding water. Submersibles are used for drainage, sewage, septic tanks, deep wells and boreholes, and for raising water from sumps, cellars and floodwater. Many stocked at Anglian Pumping handle solids in suspension.
Can submersible pumps handle solids and sewage?
Yes – some submersibles are designed for clean water only, others handle solids up to 50 mm or full raw sewage. Anglian Pumping stocks ABS, BBC, Flygt and T-T Submersibles ranges that include vortex, single channel and grinder impellers for different solids handling requirements. Always match the pump to the maximum solid size and the type of effluent it will see.
When should I use a submersible pump instead of a surface pump?
Use a submersible when the water level is more than around 8 metres below the pump installation point – surface pumps cannot self-prime beyond that depth. Submersibles are also better when the liquid contains solids, when noise must be minimised, or when the pump needs to operate in confined spaces such as sumps and chambers where a surface pump would not fit.
