Full Description

The Ebara CDXHSM/E 70/05 is a single-stage, end-suction centrifugal pump in pressed AISI 304 stainless steel, built with Ebara’s optional HS hard-face mechanical seal. Both seal faces are silicon carbide, carried on an FPM (Viton) bellows with an AISI 316 frame and spring. Silicon carbide is far harder than the standard ceramic/carbon pair, so it stands up better to limescale, fine suspended particles and occasional poor lubrication. Hydraulically it is identical to the standard CDX 70/05: 21.1 m head at closed valve and flows up to 90 l/min.

Seal rated to 110°C fluid temperature, against 90°C for the standard Ebara CDX seal.

Hot water note: Ebara rate this seal to 110°C, but where the pumped fluid is water they recommend a maximum of 75°C with FPM elastomers for the longest seal life. For continuous hot water service above 75°C, ask us about the E-seal (EPDM) version, rated to 120°C.

FAQ

Why choose a hard-face seal?

Silicon carbide on both faces is much harder than ceramic and carbon, so it resists wear from scale and fine particles and tolerates short spells of poor lubrication better.

Can it pump dirty water?

The CDX is designed for clean or lightly contaminated water. The HS seal extends seal life with fine particles, but the pump is not for solids or sludge.

Is it self-priming?

No. The CDX is a standard centrifugal pump and needs a flooded suction or a foot valve with the casing primed before start-up.

Do I need a separate overload or starter?

No. The single-phase motor has a built-in capacitor and thermal overload.

Standard delivery:
Standard delivery is free on most orders. Some items may incur a delivery charge depending on weight, size or value. Any applicable charge will be displayed at checkout.

Deliveries will typically be made between 7am and 6pm, Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays).

Next day delivery:
Next working day delivery is available for a £16.50 + VAT delivery charge.

Orders must be placed before 12 noon to qualify for next working day delivery. Orders placed after 12 noon on Thursday but before noon on Friday will be delivered the following Monday. Orders placed after 12 noon on Friday will be delivered on Tuesday.
