Full Description

The Ebara CDXH/I 120/20 is a single-stage, end-suction centrifugal pump in pressed AISI 304 stainless steel, built with Ebara’s optional H mechanical seal. The H seal swaps the standard NBR elastomers for FPM (Viton) and raises the seal’s temperature limit from 90°C to 110°C, making it the choice for warmer fluids and for liquids that would attack standard NBR rubber. Hydraulically it is identical to the standard CDX 120/20: 40.5 m head at closed valve and flows up to 160 l/min.

Seal rated to 110°C fluid temperature, against 90°C for the standard Ebara CDX seal.

FPM (Viton) elastomers

FPM O-rings on the seal and casing resist oils, fuels and many chemicals that swell or degrade NBR.

Ceramic / carbon faces

Proven ceramic rotary against carbon graphite stationary face — smooth running on clean fluids.

All-stainless wetted parts

Pressed AISI 304 casing, impeller and casing cover; AISI 303 shaft.

Hot water note: Ebara rate this seal to 110°C, but where the pumped fluid is water they recommend a maximum of 75°C with FPM elastomers for the longest seal life. For continuous hot water service above 75°C, ask us about the E-seal (EPDM) version, rated to 120°C.

FAQ

What is the difference between the H seal and the standard seal?

The standard CDX seal uses NBR elastomers and is rated to 90°C. The H seal uses FPM (Viton) elastomers and is rated to 110°C, with better resistance to oils and many chemicals.

Is this suitable for hot water?

Yes, with a caveat: on water, Ebara recommend a maximum of 75°C with FPM elastomers for long seal life. For continuous water above 75°C, the EPDM E-seal version rated to 120°C is the better choice.

Is it self-priming?

No. The CDX is a standard centrifugal pump and needs a flooded suction or a foot valve with the casing primed before start-up.

Do I need a separate overload or starter?

Yes. Three-phase motor protection is provided by the installer — fit a suitable starter or motor protection device.

Standard delivery:
Standard delivery is free on most orders. Some items may incur a delivery charge depending on weight, size or value. Any applicable charge will be displayed at checkout.

Deliveries will typically be made between 7am and 6pm, Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays).

Next day delivery:
Next working day delivery is available for a £16.50 + VAT delivery charge.

Orders must be placed before 12 noon to qualify for next working day delivery. Orders placed after 12 noon on Thursday but before noon on Friday will be delivered the following Monday. Orders placed after 12 noon on Friday will be delivered on Tuesday.
