The Evak Stainox 5.20 (400V) is a fully cast AISI 316 stainless steel submersible sewage pump for arduous contaminated water, corrosive effluent, and heavier-duty solids handling. 1.5 kW / 2 HP three-phase 400V motor, 2″ or 3″ elbow discharge, vortex impeller with 45 mm solids handling.
A significant jump from the 5.10 — 630 L/min max flow at 19 m max head, and the free-passage steps up from 35 mm to 45 mm for coarser sewage and effluent solids. Three-phase operation draws just 10.5 A at full load with smoother start-up and no capacitor. First pump in the range fitted with the larger SQM seal frame. Manual operation only.

The Evak Stainox 5.20 (400V) is the 2 HP three-phase variant in Evak’s fully cast AISI 316 stainless steel submersible sewage pump range, and marks the range’s transition from light-duty to full sewage-station capability. Manufactured by lost-wax casting for high dimensional accuracy, the entire pump — body, impeller, motor housing, cover, shaft, rotor, and handle — is 316 SS. A 1.5 kW / 2 HP 2-pole three-phase motor drives a vortex impeller through a shaft supported by long-life ball bearings.
Two significant changes from the 1 HP 5.10 make this a genuine step-up rather than an incremental variant: the free passage opens up from 35 mm to 45 mm, letting the pump handle coarser typical sewage solids without the risk of clogging, and the pump is available with either 2″ or 3″ elbow discharge so you can size for higher flow or higher lift depending on the duty. Maximum delivery reaches 630 L/min at 19 m head — 34% more flow and 36% more lift than the 5.10.
Combined with Viton gaskets, O-rings, lip seal, and cable gland throughout, the Stainox 5.20 handles environments that would rapidly corrode a cast iron pump — making it the working choice for chemical, pharmaceutical, food-industry, marine, and treatment-plant duties at genuine sewage-station scale. Three-phase 400V operation delivers smoother start-up, no starting capacitor, and simpler motor construction than single-phase — suits installations with dedicated 3-phase distribution and appropriately-rated motor starters. An SQM-80 series double mechanical seal — upper Ca/Ce, lower SiC/SiC by EKK Eagle Burgmann — runs in an oil chamber for reliability. Class F insulation replaces the Class B used on the 5.05/5.10 (better thermal margin for higher-power operation). Optional epoxy-based nano-coating and acid/alkali-resistant cable sleeve extend service life in the most aggressive environments.

Deliveries will typically be made between 7am and 6pm, Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays).
Next day delivery:
Next working day delivery is available for a £16.50 + VAT delivery charge.
Orders must be placed before 12 noon to qualify for next working day delivery. Orders placed after 12 noon on Thursday but before noon on Friday will be delivered the following Monday. Orders placed after 12 noon on Friday will be delivered on Tuesday.

What is a submersible pump?
A submersible pump is designed to operate fully submerged in the liquid it is moving. The motor is sealed inside the pump body and cooled by the surrounding water. Submersibles are used for drainage, sewage, septic tanks, deep wells and boreholes, and for raising water from sumps, cellars and floodwater. Many stocked at Anglian Pumping handle solids in suspension.
Can submersible pumps handle solids and sewage?
Yes – some submersibles are designed for clean water only, others handle solids up to 50 mm or full raw sewage. Anglian Pumping stocks ABS, BBC, Flygt and T-T Submersibles ranges that include vortex, single channel and grinder impellers for different solids handling requirements. Always match the pump to the maximum solid size and the type of effluent it will see.
When should I use a submersible pump instead of a surface pump?
Use a submersible when the water level is more than around 8 metres below the pump installation point – surface pumps cannot self-prime beyond that depth. Submersibles are also better when the liquid contains solids, when noise must be minimised, or when the pump needs to operate in confined spaces such as sumps and chambers where a surface pump would not fit.
